Albert Hauck
Albert Hauck was a German perfumer and a key figure in the history of the fragrance house Maurer & Wirtz. He is primarily recognized for his work in the early 20th century, during which he served as the master perfumer for the company based in Stolberg, Germany.
Hauck is best known for composing 4711 Echt Kölnisch Wasser (Original Eau de Cologne), a globally iconic fragrance that has remained in continuous production for decades. His formulation helped solidify the reputation of the house and established the definitive standard for the classic citrus-aromatic cologne profile.
