Andy Tauer

Andy Tauer is a Swiss perfumer and the founder of the independent niche house Tauer Perfumes. Originally trained as a chemist, Tauer transitioned into fragrance creation as a self-taught perfumer, gaining international recognition in the mid-2000s for his artistic and highly concentrated compositions. He is noted for his hands-on approach to the entire production process, from sourcing raw materials to hand-filling bottles.

Tauer’s signature style is often characterized by bold, evocative, and complex scents that frequently feature rich resins, spices, and floral absolutes. He is best known for his cult classic creation, L'Air du Désert Marocain, an amber-spicy fragrance inspired by the Sahara. Beyond his own brand, he has occasionally collaborated on projects with other niche entities, though he remains primarily focused on the creative autonomy of his own label.
