Barnabé Fillion

Barnabé Fillion is a French perfumer and artistic director known for his multidisciplinary approach to scent, which often integrates elements of photography, botany, and travel. Initially trained as a photographer, Fillion transitioned into perfumery after an apprenticeship with nose Christine Nagel. His work is characterized by a deep connection to raw, natural materials and a focus on the experiential and therapeutic qualities of fragrance.

Fillion is perhaps best known for his long-standing creative partnership with the Australian house Aesop, where he has composed several fragrances including the Othertopias collection, featuring scents such as Miraceti, Karst, and Eidesis. Additionally, he has collaborated with luxury fashion house Paul Smith and has developed bespoke olfactory projects for various artistic institutions, consistently emphasizing a minimalist, atmospheric aesthetic that evokes specific landscapes and memories.
