Christian Mathieu

Christian Mathieu is a distinguished French perfumer who spent a significant portion of his career at the fragrance house Mane. Throughout his tenure in the industry, he has collaborated with a wide array of luxury and niche brands, including Frederic Malle, Jo Malone London, and L'Artisan Parfumeur.

He is perhaps best known for composing the cult classic Une Rose for Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, a fragrance celebrated for its hyper-realistic, dark, and earthy interpretation of the flower. His work is often characterized by a technical precision and a sophisticated approach to raw materials, favoring compositions that balance natural complexity with modern structure.
