Jean Kerleo

Jean Kerléo is a distinguished French perfumer who served as the in-house nose for Jean Patou for over thirty years, beginning in 1967. During his tenure, he was instrumental in preserving the brand's heritage, notably recreating the formulas for vintage classics like Joy and 1000. Beyond his work at Patou, he is highly regarded within the industry for his commitment to olfactory preservation, having founded the Osmothèque in Versailles in 1990 to archive and document historical fragrance formulas.

His signature style is often characterized by a rigorous, classic French approach to composition, utilizing high-quality ingredients to achieve elegance and balance. In addition to his iconic work with Jean Patou, he has contributed to creations for houses such as Lacoste and Yohji Yamamoto.
