Louis Toussaint Piver

Louis Toussaint Piver was a French perfumer and the founder of the historic fragrance house L.T. Piver, established in Paris in 1774. Initially operating as a boutique selling perfumed gloves and powders, Piver transformed the business into one of the first modern fragrance houses, eventually earning the distinction of being an official supplier to the royal courts of Europe, including those of Louis XVI and Napoleon I.

Piver is recognized for his pioneering role in the industrialization of the fragrance industry, successfully scaling the production of perfumes while maintaining high-quality standards. Under his leadership, the house became known for its innovative use of synthetic ingredients and elegant floral compositions, cementing a legacy that saw the brand expand globally throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries.
