Maurice Maurin
Maurice Maurin was a distinguished French perfumer who spent a significant portion of his career as a senior nose at the fragrance house Roure (now Givaudan). He is perhaps best known for his collaborative work on iconic mid-century and late-century compositions, including the sophisticated floral-aldehyde scent Hermès Calèche, which he co-created with Guy Robert.
Beyond his work for Hermès, Maurin contributed to the portfolios of several major luxury houses, including Guerlain, for whom he composed the floral fragrance Chamade. His style was often characterized by a refined, classic French sensibility, balancing complex floral structures with the technical precision required for high-end perfumery during the height of the 20th-century luxury market.
