Raymond Chaillan

Raymond Chaillan is a distinguished French perfumer who received his early training at the Roure Bertrand Dupont school in Grasse. Throughout his prolific career, he has collaborated with major fragrance houses including IFF and Givaudan, contributing his technical expertise to the development of numerous iconic scents in the industry.

Chaillan is perhaps best known for his work on legendary fragrances such as YSL Opium, which he co-created with Jean Amic and Jean-Louis Sieuzac, as well as Caron's Yatagan and Givenchy III. His signature style is often characterized by a refined balance of structure and complexity, reflecting the classical training and innovative spirit that defined his contributions to 20th-century perfumery.
